Most companies in Singapore recommend and use tempered glass because it is up to four times stronger than normal glass, making it more resistance to impact breakage.
In the unfortunate situation where a freak accident causes a breakage, Tempered glass does not break in sharp, jagged edges. Instead, it breaks in smaller and more rounded fragments to minimise injury.
